A Song Reborn

24 years after The Beatles parted ways—and 14 after the tragic loss of John Lennon—Paul, George and Ringo reunited to create new music for the Anthology project. A true collaboration became possible when Yoko Ono Lennon handed them an audio cassette containing an unfinished John Lennon composition.

“A Song Reborn” takes you inside that extraordinary moment. This short film directed by Oliver Murray, is crafted from never-before-seen 1994 studio footage, beautifully restored to UHD 4K in 2025 by Peter Jackson's post-production company, Park Road Post. The film offers an intimate look at the three remaining Beatles as they rediscover their creative bond. In their own words, Paul, George and Ringo recount how they came together to shape John’s demo into the GRAMMY-winning single “Free As A Bird.”

Now, in 2025, this story gains new resonance. The musical side of The Anthology Collection - originally curated by George Martin - has been newly remastered by Giles Martin across three double albums of rare recordings. These albums reveal the early evolution of songs that would become some of the most iconic masterpieces in popular music.

The collection also expands with Anthology 4, curated by Giles Martin, featuring 13 previously unreleased demos and session takes, alongside other rare material. It includes brand-new 2025 mixes of the GRAMMY-winning “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” remixed by their original producer, Jeff Lynne.

And for the first time in 30 years, the landmark eight-part Anthology documentary series has been fully restored and remastered for 2025 - now streaming exclusively on Disney+. This edition also adds a brand-new Episode Nine, featuring much more unseen footage of Paul, George and Ringo working together in the studio in 1994–95 and reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles.

A Song Reborn celebrates not only the making of a modern Beatles classic, but also the return of Anthology - a treasure trove of music, history and the enduring power of friendship.
